Gautam Gambhir celebrates KKR’s triumph with the “appropriate quantity of salt” in an attempt to beat Sourav Ganguly’s record.

Salt has surpassed Ganguly’s run total because of his exceptional work at the storied venue. With 331 runs in seven innings, former KKR captain Ganguly concluded the 2010 IPL. Ganguly scored 493 runs in 14 games throughout the span. Andre Russell finished the 2019 Indian Premier League with 311 runs in seven innings, second only to Vijay Ganguly. Former KKR player Chris Lynn scored 300 runs in nine IPL games in 2018.

For the Knight Riders, Salt hit the game-winning blow with seven fours and five sixes. Captain Iyer played brilliantly, scoring 33 off 23 balls as Modern Rummy reached the 154-run barrier in 16.3 overs. With his brilliant hitting display at Eden Garden, Salt, the starting pitcher for the Kansas City Royals, has shot up to sixth in the Orange Cap standings.
